MEET THE COMMITTEE
Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, was first elected to the Michigan Senate in November 2010. Now in his second term, he serves as Majority Floor Leader. The lawmaker served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002 and most recently was the supervisor of White Lake Township.

Lynn O’Brien serves as Director of District Affairs in the office of Senate Majority Floor Leader Mike Kowall. Prior to working for the Michigan Senate, Lynn worked with Senator Kowall at the Charter Township of White Lake in the planning department for close to 17 years. Lynn earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and subsequently earned a degree in Paralegal studies. Diane has been a reference librarian for over 20 years, and has worked at the Library of Michigan for the last 14 of those years, providing research and reference assistance to state and legislative employees, as well to members of the public. She has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Masters of Library and Information Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
